A pattern that kept repeating
Across major retail groups in the GCC and Southeast Asia and a global food delivery platform, the CDP was never the problem. The problem was that nobody owned making it work.
Data engineering had ingested the sources and called it done. Marketing wanted segments and audiences but did not know what identity resolution rules sat underneath them. Nobody was accountable for whether the platform was actually earning its licence fee.
At a leading retail conglomerate in Thailand, our co-founder stood up the CDP and CRM ecosystem from the ground up and built the Centre of Excellence to keep owning it, not just launch it. What followed mattered more than the migration: 170+ automated lifecycle use cases built on top of a properly unified customer view, taking CRM revenue contribution from 2% to 18%.
“The platform is already bought. The seat to run it properly is what’s missing. Monndé is that seat.”
The work
What a CDP audit with Monndé actually covers
The output is not a slide deck. It is a costed, ordered list of what to fix first, and Monndé stays to fix it alongside the client’s team.
Identity resolution
How many customer records actually deduplicate correctly, and where the graph breaks. Most platforms are connected to enough sources to resolve identity. They just never were.
Source coverage
What is connected, what should be, and what is connected but feeding bad data in. A CDP with the wrong sources is worse than one with fewer, cleaner ones.
Activation
Whether the segments built in the platform are actually reaching the channels they are meant to, or dying in an unused integration. Activation is where most CDP value gets lost.
Governance
Who owns consent, retention, and data quality once Monndé is no longer in the room. A platform without an owner degrades. Governance is the answer to the question of how it stays useful.
The tool stance, applied to CDPs
The recommendation always starts from what the client already owns.
Monndé does not sell a CDP. If the existing platform can do the job once it is configured properly, that is the cheaper and faster fix, and it is the one Monndé recommends first.
A new platform only enters the conversation when the current one genuinely cannot do what the business needs. Monndé has no commercial relationships with vendors and earns no referral fees.
Proof, not promises
Every platform stood up is still running today, still owned by the client’s team.
